Each New Day (Original Poem)

Hey folks!

I've been going through another season of regrowth and renewal. I guess I'm just constantly in those seasons. That just means I'm growing though! I love it when I can tell I or someone else is growing! Anyway, I've gotten back into my poetry swing and I wanted to spit another out at you. Hope you enjoy!

Love,

Noelle

Each New Day

As I look back upon the ashes of the ground where I once lay

I learn to realize the brightness of the new day

The opportunities await me

As the new dawn gives way

Give way to the new light

The new bright challenges

The new chances

New glances

Of how you face the world

You look back and relax

Because there’s no going back

To be that little girl

That child, yes, you knew

That child, yes, she grew

To be the wonderful person you now call your own

That wonderful child, you know she’s now grown

You’ve got more to grow, yes, and that’s okay

Because improvement comes with each new day

You work and you work

To give name to your new self

But a name will only come when you leave life on the shelf

A name is only given once something’s deemed finished

But darling, keep working, for you will never be finished

The only thing you need is the drive to keep on living

This drive comes only from renewal, regrowth, from strife

For you can only respond to what’s been handed to you in life.

You look back on where you came from,

You learn the best you can,

You trust in God to lead the way

Walking hand in hand

Please look forward to each new day.
