Run Back! (Original Poem)

Hi folks!
So recently, I've realized that quite a while ago, I had left my dream, my passion, my drive, and my inspiration to create a better world and a better life behind. I used to be incredibly passionate about creating and changing the world, but life had run me down quite a bit. Quite a lot, actually, but since being in a couple classes at UNC and reevaluating where my life has taken me, I'm desperately trying to get back to my old ways of working non-stop for what I wanted. Especially when it came to the Disney company. That was always a major inspiration for me, and only pretty recently have I rediscovered my love for it. Anyway, that's a super long intro to why I wrote this poem. I really hope anyone who considers themselves a dreamer, a former dreamer, or hopefully a future dreamer reads this and takes it to heart. I certainly did. I realize I often write poems as just letters to myself in hopes that by wording it like someone else gave me the advice, I would listen. I think it might have worked this time! I hope it'll do the same thing for you. Please share this with fellow dreamers!
Love,
Noelle

Run Back!
Have you ever left your dream behind
Not because you found something better
But because you felt like you just maybe weren’t cut out for your dreams?
You lost your oomph
Your bravery
Your never-quitting inspiration to succeed
Where did that go?
Why’d you leave it behind?
Left your dream in the dust
As if it wasn’t worth anything to you anymore
When in reality it was always there
Always hoping you’d come back
“Return to me!” it says
Hoping you’d come back to your childhood mindset
Believing that everything was possible and reasonable
With nothing to set you back
You look back now and realize it still is possible
You just forgot how to view the idea
It lost its bright colors for you
Faded away underneath the cloud that is reality
Waiting for the day
The sun would return
And shine back on your dream
Revealing it to still be part of your reality
If only you would take a leap of faith
Diving from the cloud that swept you up long ago
You plummet through the air
Afraid, yes, that you might splat on the ground
But desperate to be down there again
Where the possibilities run rampant
Where creativity is the one that soars
Instead of the big black cloud that you’d been swimming in
Have you lost that dream?
Or have you simply lost touch with it
Did you lose your way?
Did you get lost in the chaos
That you claimed was simply “life?”
Life has possibilities!!
The life you claim to have run into
Was just running you away from your dreams
RUN BACK!
You can do it.
I believe in you.
You just have to try.
It’ll be hard
But it will be oh so amazingly worth it.
Run back.
Please.
I need you to chase your dreams.
The world needs you to chase your dreams.
Your dreams will improve the world.
I guarantee it.
Run back.
Chase.
Dream.
