Hey guys!

New Poem! Hope you can relate to this in some way. It's relatively personal, but I think it's general enough for everyone to understand it. That's the best thing about art, I think, because anyone can understand at least something out of it. Anyway, enjoy!

Love,

Noelle

To My Past Life Friends

To My Past Life Friends:

I see you

I see your Facebook, Instagram

I see your new artwork

I see your college life

Do you see mine?

Do you observe as I observe?

Do you watch from a distance to see what it’s like

In a world you used to call home?

I look back and I see you

No, not you

Not the you I knew

A new you.

I used to know you

Now you’ve grown, you

Learned from life, you

Made it through, you

Are a new you.

Am I a new me?

I know I am to me

But am I new to you?

Do you see me as I see you?

I act like I still know you

I don’t know you.

I knew you.

Did you ever know me?

Or did you forget me the second I left?

It’s odd how life changes.

I think I know you.

I think by seeing your college acceptance letters

I might have gone to high school with you.

I didn’t.

I went to kindergarten with you, though.

I sat across from you at our group of four desks

It’s odd what the brain remembers.

I think I miss you

But how can I be sure?

Do I miss you or do I miss childhood?

When things were simple?

Things aren’t simple anymore

For either of us.

Who really knows how our lives will turn out?

I think I know you, but I don’t.

I’ll barely remember you soon enough, I guess.

Goodbye?

For now?

I don’t know anything anymore, I suppose.

..........

To My Friends Now:

Will I ever say the same to you?
