Be a teacher.

Most people have had at least one really great, caring teacher who  inspired you to do your best. If you haven't had one, I'm sorry you haven't had such an awesome role model and mentor in your life. I know what I'm doing with my life, mostly due to my teacher/director at school right now. I hate calling him a teacher, because he's so much more than that. He's my mentor, and I truly wouldn't be who I am today without his support. He made me see my passion for theatre and go for it, but along the way, I realized another goal of mine: to be like him. 

I want to inspire people. I want to be a mentor to someone and help them realize their passion. Finding your passion in life is what makes life truly worth living. The person who helps you find that passion.... well that's a whole new level of appreciation. I couldn't be more grateful to my director for being there for me all these years.. I really needed it. 

That's what I want to do for others. I want to become a mentor. I want to create a relationship with someone younger and help them realize their full potential in life. The best way to do that? Be a teacher. I found this quote this morning that ties in perfectly:

Changing the world is so easy when you inspire people to be their best. It's even easier when you have a class of 30 students and you inspire each of them in that way. Then, they go on to inspire others like you did them, and it keeps multiplying. If you're their mentor, they'll be someone else's. 

In this case, however, you don't have to be an official teacher. A teacher is anyone who teaches anything. If you teach someone to love themselves and love others, then you've already made them a better person. If you inspire them to follow their passion, then you've made them a better person. Teach someone something, and your a teacher, but the best teachers are mentors. So right now, I encourage you to become a mentor to someone. Teach them what you know, inspire them to be the best version of themselves, and push them to find their passions. Then, you'll be a true teacher. 

Become a teacher. Inspire someone. Change the world.
